
Trio of Violets Compete in 800 Meters at Princeton

Princeton Elite Meet Invitational Results
Three members of the New York University men's track & field team competed in the 800 meters at the Princeton University Elite Invitational in Princeton, NJ, on Saturday, May 2.
The top finisher of the group was junior Bernier Lauredan, Jr., who took seventh place with a time of 1:54.93. Finishing right behind him was senior Nile Nahar-Brown in a time of 1:55.87. Both runners won their individual heats.
The Violets' other participant in the event was junior Maciej Szelazek, who posted a time of 1:58.54.
Freshman Sebastian Schwelm competed in the 1,500 meters and ran a time of 4:10.33.
Junior Robert Joynt and freshman Noah MacNeil represented NYU was in the 5,000 meters.
"I thought that our middle distance runners all did well considering for the unseasonably cold and windy conditions," said NYU head coach Nick McDonough.
Several members of the team will return to the track tomorrow for the USMMA Invitational in Kings Point, NY.
