Happy December!

Today got off to a good personal start, last night I went to bed at 11:00 and slept until 9:00. I think ten hours is a record. I also think it's the longest I could go because of dehydration. The first thing I do every morning is chug a liter bottle of water. Because of the very low humidity, just breathing is dehydrating. Every breath of cold dry air absorbs moisture from my lungs that is carried away upon exhaling. In a normal six-hour night, I exhale about 3600 breaths, that seems to be enough to remove a quart of water from my body. Ten hours takes away enough to make me feel uncomfortable.

This is a day to try to catch up on lab work, an impossible task. Sunday's are supposed to be a day of rest; somehow I donít think that applies here.
